GDL Transport replaces its custom-made software with the WMS solution from Elevate-IT. The specialist in the logistics of wine, food related and bio-products, felt it was time to upgrade their services and selected the logistics industry-standard of Elevate-IT to achieve the desired optimization process. After a short implementation period of three months, the organization has now all the necessary functionalities to effortlessly support complex warehouse and customs activities and fulfill all the requirements from their BIO- and IFS-certifications.

Transparency with RF scanning
Thanks to decades of experience, GDL Transport BVBA has acquired a solid position in the Belgian logistics market. The transport and storage company is praised for its expertise in the storage of wine and organic products. As a result, the company has to deal with extensive documentation when it comes to the route that goods travel and the associated excise and customs administration.

The logistics service provider, therefore, started the quest for a standard solution that contains all the functionality to support their current processes seamlessly and at the same time can easily respond to future needs for more complex warehouse flows. GDL soon reached the industry standard of Elevate-IT.

For example, we will soon be recording all operations directly in the WMS using RF scanning. This prevents manual data entry, reduces the risk of errors and offers more transparency. The information recorded in the WMS can be used to inform customers and customs about the latest status. "

GDL can speed up the declaration process by integrating customs processes with the WMS. In this way, all relevant customs data of the goods is supplemented from the WMS. This prevents double entry and speeds up the process.
